Everyone’s getting excited about Ronaldo this and last season, especially about the amount of goals he scores from midfield, but Pires used to do the same thing and he didn’t get the same sort of glory and attention as Ronaldo is now. 15+ goals from midfield consistently. Amazing. It was just he was in the shadow of Henry who got 30 a season. Pires is as good if not better then Ronaldo is now. Goodbye Pires. A true legend and one of the best midfielders to have ever graced the premiership.
